Six essential holiday home design principles
Lazazu homes are not just beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. As part of our service we refresh, equip and beautifully furnish your second home after purchase. It’s the aesthetic of our homes – and the way they make you feel when you walk through the front door – that sets the high standard that our clients expect. We believe in six essential design principles – to make your holiday home fresh, beautiful and relaxing.
1. Comfort first
When you go on holiday you need to know that you will be as comfortable as you are at home – if not more so. It is our mission to put comfort first. We focus on a casual and fresh aesthetic with furniture that works well and is built to last. Homes are fitted with high-quality furnishings by European designers, which are both beautiful and practical. Most important of all are comfortable beds that guarantee a good night’s sleep, and bed linens of the quality you find in a high-end hotel. The bedrooms are equipped with black-out curtains or blinds for long, luxurious and undisturbed sleep.
2. Keep it location-centric
When designing our clients’ second homes we always consider the location and architecture of the building and ensure that the interiors are in keeping. A very contemporary-looking home will invite a more modern design – sleek and luxurious (but never cold), while a country home would typically call for a softer aesthetic – classic in style but maintaining the freshness you would want in a holiday home.
3. Detail orientated homes
You will only find high-quality equipment in our homes, whether it is the essentials like ovens, dishwashers, coffee machines and refrigerators, or thoughtful details like premium knives, pots, pans, picnic sets, salad spinners and gym equipment. Everything is aimed at making life smooth and easy – just as it should be when you’re on holiday.
4. Outdoor dining is paramount in summer homes
Whether you are enjoying a solitary morning coffee or sitting down to eat with a group of family or friends, your outdoor dining space is where relaxation begins and memories are made. A large dining table and comfortable seating space will ensure that leisurely lunches, long dinners and drinks to watch the sun set are just what your holiday is all about.
5. Work from (second) home
We understand that one of the advantages of life since the pandemic is that remote working is now quite common – allowing you to spend more time in your second home. We ensure that your home has a dedicated, peaceful workspace – if possible, separate from the rest of the home. Otherwise, the work spaces in Lazazu homes are thoughtfully designed so as to be concealed and private.
6. Broad appeal but individually conceived
We believe that it is important for a co-owned home to have a broad appeal, but that does not mean it follows a “cookie-cutter” design. Tasteful, thoughtful, comfortable, and beautifully curated interiors that are universally appealing.
At Lazazu, beautiful co-owned homes are at the heart of what we do. Set up a consultation and tell us what you are looking for.
